UCH is a software framework that allows the integration between any Remote Control User Interface and devices or services. It aims to simplify any integration process between systems, services and any kind of devices.

This framework aims to simplify the integration process and provide user interfaces for everyone. URC/UCH is a User Centred Product and Service Design.

The UCH and the URC interface are based on ISO/IEC 24752 standard for “Universal Remote Consoles”. The UCH also features a configurable Task Model Engine, based on CEA standard 2018. It is available for a range of runtime environments: MS.NET, Java, C++, OSGi and Android. Meticube is responsible for the exploitation and dissemination of the UCH in behalf of the openURC Alliance.

URC/UCH has been started with the *EU project i2home that was a project between Meticube, DFKI and other European R&TD partners.

A significant advantage of this approach is its expandability. Due to the modularity of the system it also provides an enormous potential for the expansion of the system where it is integrated.
